April 2019 WISE Award – Kristie Bonner

The recipient of April’s WISE Award has gone above and beyond her job description. Kristie Bonner does a fantastic job at Evans and on top of that, she saved someone’s life last month.

Last month, Kristie was visiting our Fort St. location to train some employees on our new WMS, Ramp. Kristie had finished the training and was heading back to our Melvindale building with another Evans employee, Justin. As they were driving back, Kristie noticed a man had pulled over on the side of the road and was pulling the body of a woman out of the car. Kristie told Justin to pull over to see if she could help.

When she assessed the situation, the woman was unconscious and had no pulse. Kristie began performing CPR until a nurse who was driving by pulled over to assist. The nurse took over the chest compressions, while Kristie did the breathing. The woman eventually re-established a pulse and was going in and out of consciousness. When EMS showed up, they took over the situation and transported the woman to a hospital.

This act showed true heroism and we should all be proud of her. Kristie always stops when she sees someone who needs assistance on the road. This time when she stopped, she saved a young woman’s life.

Kristie – thank you for being an amazing, hard-working, and inspirational member of the Evans’ family.
