Deanna Smith is this month’s recipient for the WISE Award. She goes above and beyond for her team and customers. We’re glad to have her apart of the Evans family. Deanna sat down with Jen Guerra for a brief interview.

Years at Evans: 1 year (DOH 4/30/19) – Received award before her first year anniversary.
Tell us a bit about yourself:
I am the youngest of 4 siblings. My hobbies are salt water fish tanks and wrenching on cars. I also do construction on the side. I have a wife and 3 fur-kids (2 cats and a dog). My mom calls me MacGyver, because regardless of the situation I can always make things happen.
Describe your job here at Evans Distribution Systems:
My position at Evans Distribution Systems is Carrier Management. I work for Evans Logistics Inc., which is the brokerage division for the Transportation Department. I organize customer shipments and find dedicated carriers.
What do you like most about your job?
What I like the most is having customer and carrier relations. Also, I like that every day brings a new challenge and no two days are the same. A lot of the time, we have to wing it, which makes the day exciting.
What do you like most about working for Evans Distribution Systems?
The atmosphere. Everyone is positive and has great attitudes. Its family owned, family structured & flexible. Great company culture.
