Ashley Smith is this month’s recipient for the WISE Award. She is dedicated and an amazing team member, and we are glad to have her as part of the Evans family. Ashley sat down with Morgan for a brief interview:

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I have a daughter in middle school and my favorite pastimes are reading Stephen King novels and spending time with my family on Belle Isle beach. I was born and raised in Detroit and we currently reside in Hamtramck with our cat, Keke.
Describe your job here at Evans Distribution Systems.
The best way to describe my job is BUSY! I spend most of my day interfacing with customers; answering emails, questions or processing orders. I enjoy working with my team at Mt. Elliott.
What do you like most about your job?
I like the people I work with and I love getting to know the customers—they are great. It’s rewarding to be able to translate the customers’ needs into what happens out in the warehouse.
What do you like most about working for Evans Distribution Systems?
I came to Evans after being at the same job for 10 years, so it was a big change. But it didn’t take long for me to feel welcome. I enjoy the quarterly meetings and everyone I’ve met is nice and fun. I’m fortunate to have learned a lot during my first two years at Evans.

Ashley is an extremely dedicated employee that does not know the meaning of failure. Her teamwork and integrity are amazing. She gives 110% every day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. She is talented and knowledgeable and is dedicated to making her customers happy on a regular basis. She is the epitome of the words: “good customer service.” The MTE team is blessed to have her. As a manager and as a company, we are lucky to have an employee like Ashley. She’s the first one to jump in and ask how she can help others. She consistently goes above and beyond her duties.
