Tell us a bit about yourself
When the pandemic started in March, the Michigan Humane Societies were forced to close, calling on foster volunteers to help “empty the shelters” by taking in pets during this desperate time. Because my team was now working remotely, I thought, “Why not? It will only be for a week or two.” (Little did I know.) I offered to foster the dog who needed the most help. Ten months later and the office temp, Oreo, has been promoted to the permanent position as my Director of Social Wellness and Morale.
Besides being with my Pitbull Oreo, I enjoy spending time with my family, crafting and DIY projects, and playing sports and recreational games.
Describe your job here at Evans Distribution
As the Sales and Marketing Coordinator, I support sales, marketing, and quality efforts. On the sales side, I assist with customer implementations and CRM. On the marketing side, I create content such as blogs and graphics for Evans’ website and social media channels. On the quality side, I develop work instructions for new accounts and compose business reviews.
What do you like most about your job?
First and foremost, my team. I work with a great group of individuals who are supportive and encouraging and who genuinely care about the work we all do and the success of our team. Second, I like that I can use both my creative and analytical skills every day.
What do you like most about working for Evans Distribution?
I like the family environment and the camaraderie that is formed with coworkers. I also appreciate the opportunities to learn new skills and different facets of the business. For two months, I had the chance to work in operations on the warehouse floor scanning, labeling and staging inbound loads as well as picking orders to be shipped out. Honestly, I really enjoyed this experience and I am grateful for my team, Steve Ruch and the Operations team at Enterprise who allowed me this opportunity.
In the short time that Katie has been with Evans she has emerged as a top contributor to our Sales & Marketing team. She brings a contagious enthusiasm and energy to every project and consistently delivers high quality work. She also is known for her thoughtfulness towards her fellow team members, always striving to make everyone around her feel happy and appreciated. We are lucky to have her at Evans and we look forward to seeing her progress in her role and in our company for many years. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor. Keep it up!
