Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am recently married to my wife, Cassidy, and we have a 1-year-old son, named Joseph. I’m currently renovating my house that I just moved into. It’s still a work in progress but it’s been a lot of fun. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games and hanging with my family. I also have a Pomeranian – Chihuahua mix, named Lucy.
What’s the most unique part about working for Evans?
There’s a lot of different dynamics at Evans. Every location has its own personalities, challenges, and processes but at the end of the day, you still get the sense of family.
What’s one accomplishment at Evans that you’re most proud of?
The IT industry is all new to me so I’m very proud of myself for quickly learning all our different systems and working with everyone on a personal basis.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
I wanted to be a civil engineer. I always enjoyed art and building things.
What animal do you believe most closely matches your personality and why?
There are two animals that match my personality. When I’m at home, my personality closely matches a sloth because I tend to be lazy and just relax on the couch…it’s mainly why my house isn’t fully renovated yet! But overall, my personality matches a meerkat. I have a close group of friends that I don’t venture from. We have been friends since elementary school!
You have to sing karaoke, what song do you pick?
Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots. You’re always stressed out with a newborn!
Comments from his manager, Michael Franklin:
“Austin has been a welcome addition to the Evans family and particularly to the IT department. His previous position in customer service has been his foundation for excellent user interaction. In his short time at Evans, he has made great strides in assimilating into IT’s environment. He can quickly understand and execute support solutions for the user community. Three important aspects of any IT operation are: documentation, consistency, and standardization. Austin understands and respects these requirements, ensuring his work follows Evans’ IT standards. Congratulations Austin with your WISE award! Keep it up.”
