Describe your role at Evans. What accounts do you work on?
I am a Dock Lead at the Huron facility. I arrange the daily work schedule of the other 4-5 drivers. I train the new forklift drivers and I handle all the new accounts when they first come in. I also work on all of the existing accounts except for Conros.
Where did you learn how to drive a forklift? Or who taught you?
When I came to Evans, I had never driven a forklift. Pat Bledsoe, Eddie Coleman, and Eric Ridenour taught me everything I know like thinking ahead and being prepared. They also taught me about how to operate a forklift safely by watching angles and shadows, using turn signals, daily Hi-lo safety checks, and being aware of weight loads. I pass that knowledge onto the new drivers that I train.
What has your work experience been like at Evans?
I’ve always worked with good people at Evans. I’ve learned a lot here and I’ve been treated good. It’s almost like a second family.
What is your favorite summertime activity?
I love to be by the pool, but I mostly do whatever my daughter wants to do. She likes to go to the park, and she turned 8 last week so we went shopping for her birthday.
What is the last movie, book, musical performance, or show that you saw?
The last movie I saw was The Little Mermaid with my daughter. She loved it!
What are your hobbies?
I like music and science. I enjoy documentaries about nature, aliens, ocean life, and animals.
Comments from Jaron’s manager, Rusty Haworth:
“The first words that come to mind when thinking about Jaron are dedicated, hardworking, problem solver, and company oriented. Jaron always has a positive attitude and works well with the team. He is committed to ensuring each customer he oversees receives the best service every time. He is a great asset to the Evans family.”
Comments from Jaron’s colleagues:
“Jaron has been with the company for several years and has shown so much growth during that time. He works six days a week and often stays behind until all tasks are complete and to lock up. Jaron is always willing to help, teach, and learn. He is a great person all around and an invaluable employee to Evans.” – Belinda Johnson
“Jaron is the lone ranger at this facility that comes in every Saturday and handles what needs to be completed while everyone else enjoys sleeping in on a normal day off. He is an excellent warehouseman, doing all expected shipping, receiving and warehouse duties. Jaron is given extra responsibilities and duties as Rusty’s trusted and valuable right hand man.” – Dawn Detroyer
