Describe your position at Evans.
I am a Floor Supervisor at the Jefferson facility. The dedicated facility stores and repacks electric vehicle (EV) batteries for Stellantis. My job is to make sure that the orders are complete and ready for shipping while ensuring the process is efficient and safe. The batteries are classified as hazmat and require a temperature-controlled environment and to be stored apart to prevent ignition. I ensure everyone is properly trained so that they are careful when repacking these 150+-pound batteries.
What do you like most about your job?
I love feeling accomplished by doing my job safely and efficiently. I like to hear that the customer is satisfied with our operation.
Where will I find you when you’re not at work or with your family?
Before I worked at Evans, I was an auto mechanic. I’m usually at home, restoring my black Mustang. I also work on my hi-lo and other machinery. I like to figure out how things work and how to fix them.
What’s your favorite sports team and why?
I enjoy car racing because it’s an exciting sport and it gives me an adrenaline rush.
What’s something unusual that we would find in your home?
I have two red-eared sliders (type of turtle) named Squid and Angelo. Squid is the smaller one and he is crazy. I also have a beta fish, two cats, and a Chihuahua named Bobbi.
What’s your favorite summer activity?
My family and I enjoy walking on the River Front during the summers. We also attend Monster Jam shows and watch WWE matches. Roman Reigns is my favorite wrestler because he’s tough.
Comments from my Manager, Dan Bartley:
“Juan knows all aspects of the Jefferson warehouse. I call him Mr. Fix It—He keeps our operation moving even when something breaks down. Most of all, he cares about the operation and the people he works with. He is always willing to train our newcomers and consistently sets a good example of how to get the job done right.” Congratulations Juan!
