This month’s W.I.S.E. Award recipient is Eddie Coleman. We are very grateful to have him apart of the Evans family for 29 years. Please join us in congratulating him on earning this award and most importantly, his retirement this month!
Eddie began his career with Evans Distribution Systems in 1993. He joined the company as a forklift driver at our headquarters in Melvindale, MI. He handled multiple accounts, some of which are still active today.
In 2011, Eddie became a Floor Supervisor. He assisted in managing the floor and ensuring that customers’ needs were met. On top of that, Eddie became the “go-to-guy” when a facility needed help. He has worked with all operation teams at every facility.
For the last two years, Eddie has worked at our Jefferson facility and next Friday, May 13th will be his last day with Evans. We wish him the best of luck and thank him for always working to improve satisfaction at Evans! Enjoy a well-deserved retirement!
What’s one accomplishment at Evans that you’re most proud of?
I’m most proud of assisting in the start-up of multiple buildings. At times, it was just me and a forklift driver receiving all the goods of new customers moving in.
What have you gained from working at Evans?
I have gained a lot of warehousing experience and people skills during my time at Evans.
What’s your favorite travel spot?
My favorite travel spot is Mexico. I visit a resort that’s about an hour and a half south of Cancun. It’s a great spot to relax, enjoy the culture and food, and take in the scenery.
What is something people don’t know about you?
I have a family-owned business called Miss Abbie’s Pet Treats. We make all natural pet treats and other products for your pets to live healthier lives.
Which cartoon character would you most like to switch lives with?
I would most like to switch lives with Foghorn Leghorn.
Comments from his manager, Justin Archibald:
“Eddie is the best Supervisor that an Operations Manager can ask for. His years of experience and dedication makes him the perfect right-hand man. He has had my back for the past two years as I float between two facilities and is always willing to do anything and everything that I need of him. Eddie – the Jefferson team will truly miss you and your stories that you have accumulated over the years here. Thank you for all that you have done for me, our team, and most importantly for Evans.”
