Name: Ken Thomas
Position: Forklift Operator at MTE
Date of Hire: 3/29/2022
Interview Date: 11/11/2024
Tell us about yourself and your role at Evans. I work with all the chemical customers at the Mount Elliott facility, focusing on the accounts that require the most attention for the week. I’ve been driving a forklift since I was 17 years old. I’ve always gravitated towards a job in warehousing since it’s less physically demanding as a mechanic, which is the other field that I considered early on.
What’s the number one thing on your bucket list? I would love to experience Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. It’s an annual Spanish tradition where they let the bulls loose in the city and people run in front of them or alongside.
Where would we find you when you’re not working? At home on the couch with my 4-year-old son. We enjoy watching Deadliest Catch or Gold Rush on the Discovery Channel.
If you were to win the lottery tomorrow, what is the first thing you would do? First, I would buy a house. Then I would start a real estate business.
If you were an animal, what would you be and why? A cheetah. They are the fastest land animal, running up to 75 mph. They are also known for their amazing acceleration.
What is something interesting that we would find in your home? My father passed down a tool collection made of gold. He was given the collection when he was my age, and I intend to pass it down to my son one day. It holds a lot of sentimental value.
Comments from my Manager, Justin Archibald: “Ken has been an intricate part of this team since he joined us in 2022. He is a multi-dimensional team member who tackles any task with ease. He welcomes new projects when needed and without being asked. Even in the most stressful moments, he has always been someone that I can count on to do a great job. Thank you, Ken, and keep up the great work!”
